I'm just going to say it. If you're not spending your summer evenings with a glass of wine, a sunset, and these guys, you're living a partial life. And I'm not just saying that because the Head and the Heart are practically my next door neighbors. Ok, so technically they're from Seattle, but I'm pretty positive they'd love Oregon too.
I've been trying to pinpoint what exactly I love about them. The word I keep coming back to is: Genuine. There's nothing synthetic about this band or its music. It's chords and lyrics and vocals and even a glockenspiel. Music without all that shiny packaging.
Music blogger, Heather Browne, captures it much better: "For all the times your toes tap while enjoying this band, often the lightness will deceptively belie the depth of ache in the lyrics when you sit down to really listen. There is magic in the music, but not magic contrived by trickery or posturing."
Grab yourself a glass of wine and enjoy!
